Ryan Timms Scores Top-10 at BC39

PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending his weekend at the Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Ryan Timms scored a fifth-place finish during his qualifying night, before tallying a 13th place finish during Saturday’s finale.

“My Keith Kunz Motorsports team had high expectations going into the BC39,” Ryan Timms said. “We have been really good all season long, and this even is quickly becoming one of the crowned jewels of the sport. In the end, we didn’t quite have the weekend we had in mind, but we were still happy with the runs we had both nights.”

Hitting the dirt on Friday night, the Oklahoma City, OK native picked up a fourth-place finish in his JBL backed No. 67 entry. Moving into a qualifier, Timms continued to have a strong showing during his qualifying night as he picked up a third-place finish and locked into the 30-lap feature event.

Rolling off the starting grid from 9th, Timms got off to a quick start as he jumped into fourth and looked for a spot on the podium. As he continued to battle and search different lines, he lost a spot late as he closed the night out with a fifth-place finish.

Locked into the ninth starting spot for Saturday’s 39-lap finale, Timms got off to a slower start than he desired as he fell outside of the Top-10 in the early laps, and soon found himself mired back in 13th.

On the racy Dirt Track at IMS, Timms came to life in the latter stages of the event as he worked his way back into the Top-10. Getting back to 10th, Timms held the position in the waning laps, and capped the weekend off with his 39th Top-10 of the season.

“Saturday, once we got back into the Top-10, passing was tough against a loaded field,” Timms said. “I’m happy we were able to come forward in the feature after falling back, and happy with how we raced overall. Looking forward to some of the big races we have coming up as the season winds down with USAC.”
