Ryan Timms Notches Huset’s Victory in Guy Forbrook’s No. 5 Sprint Car

Collects $7,500 for 11th Win of 2024

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (08/26/24) – Ryan Timms made a guest appearance in the Guy Forbrook-owned No. 5 Sprint Car over the weekend and ended his two-day excursion in SeaFoam Victory Lane on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway.

The newly-turned 18-year-old Oklahoma City, Okla., youngster shot ahead of early leader Andy Pake amid lapped traffic on the seventh circuit of the feature and drove away with the dominating $7,500 victory.

The triumph marked Timms’ 11th win of the 2024 campaign.

“There at the start, we were really loose,” Timms said. “I got my wing back. Reutzel had got by me at that point. We got into lapped traffic and it was slowing their pace up quite a bit. All of a sudden I was driving by both of them down the backstretch. The car was amazing.”

Timms’ two-day weekend with Forbrook Motorsports commenced on Saturday afternoon with a trip to Knoxville (IA) Raceway for the track’s Season Championship Night.

Following an impressive qualifying effort that saw him claim the overall fast-time honors, Timms posted a sixth-place finish in the 25-lap opener.

On Sunday at Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.), Ryan advanced into the feature with a fourth-to-second showing in his heat race. Rolling off on the front row, Timms got off to a slow start in the opening laps but was able to find his footing in the Pequot Manufacturing-sponsored No. 5 Sprinter. He drove by Andy Pake on the seventh circuit and controlled the remainder of the 25-lapper to claim his 11th win of the season and the $7,500 payday.

Timms took the checkers 2.034 seconds ahead of Aaron Reutzel with Dusty Zomer rounding out the podium.

From there, Timms will trek to Angell Park Speedway (Sun Prairie, Wis.) to compete in the Firemen’s Nationals on Sunday and Monday aboard the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports No. 67 Midget.
